Vista Point will be the location of the Half at Jordan Lake. The bike course will be a rolling loop design around and near the lake. The run course will be a 2 loop out and back course with some rolling hills and small inclines.
Vista Point: The entrance to Vista Point is on North Pea Ridge Road/SR 1700. Traveling west on US 64, cross the lake, continue 3.7 miles and take a left at the first traffic light onto North Pea Ridge Rd. Continue 2.3 miles to enter Vista Point.
Packet Pickup Requirements:
Each person participating in the race must pickup their own race packet. You are required to present a valid driver’s license and a valid USA Triathlon card. If you paid the one day fee online then you only need to bring your driver’s license. Each member of the relay team must pickup his or her own packet and sign a release waiver.
NO DRIVERS LICENSE, NO VALID USA TRIATHLON CARD (unless you paid one day fee) - NO RACE!
RACE COURSES
The 1.2 mile triangular clockwise swim in Jordan Lake.
The 56 mile bike course - The 56 mile bike course will roll through Chatham and Lee County near and around Jordan Lake area. The course will feature some fast flat areas but also some rolling design. The last 15-20 miles feature a few challenging hills, so don't blow out the legs early in the ride. There will be 2 water bottle handoffs on the bike course.
The 13.1 mile run coursen - The 13.1 mile run course will be a 2 loop out and back course. The course will feature a some rolling hills and small inclines. The run course also has a .25 patch of gravel road. Water stations will be located every mile, so you will have plenty of hydration on the course.
Water stops will be stocked with water, heed, hammer gels, coke, gummy bears and sponges. Please put all trash near the water station to keep the area clean.
The race course revolves around a transition area next to the finish line. The same transition area will be used for all phases. The transition area will open at 5:30 am; ALL bikes need to be placed in position before the transition area closes at 6:45 am.
Cut off times:
Swim 1 hour and 30 minutes
Bike 5 hours from your start time
Total 8 hours from your start time
Race officials reserve the rights to pull anyone of the course that will not meet the time requirements.

The last day to register online for the Finish Strong Half Iron Triathlon is Tuesday, September 10, 2013. On-site registration may be available if this event is not full, but your best bet is to register online.
A fee for USAT race day insurance will be added if you are not a USAT member ($12.00 for adults, $10.00 for ages 17 and under).

Relays - Athletes can register as a 2 or 3 person relay team for the triathlon. 2 person relay teams - one person will do two events and one person will do one event. 3 person relay teams - each person will do one event; the swim, bike or run.

REFUND POLICY
50% of your entry fee will be refunded until August 18th, 2013. No refunds will be issued for any reason after August 18th, 2013. Event entries are not transferable between persons, events or years. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to these refund terms. To request a refund you must complete the refund request form using the link below.
As a value-added service to our athletes, this race proudly offers a complementary registration fee protection plan absolutely free through 365Competitors, LLC. This policy entitles all paid registrants to a reimbursement of their registration and online processing fees, should they become ill or injured prior to the event. WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement weather the following procedures will be followed:
1. The event will be postponed until 7:45AM in hopes the inclement weather will pass.
2. If inclement weather does not pass by 7:45AM, the event will be changed to a duathlon format.
3. If a duathlon is not possible, the event will be cancelled and a 50% credit will be issued for all registered participants into the 2014 event. No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
4. If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather prior to event weekend, a 50% credit will be issued for all registered participants into the 2014 event. No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
