Washington Sprint Triathlon - Washington, NC
Thursday, June 12: Washington Triathlon POSTPONED
Unfortunately, the fires and resulting smoke in eastern North Carolina are creating conditions that simply aren't safe to race in. Our first concern is the safety of the athletes participating in our events, so the Washington Triathlon will be postponed until Saturday, June 21.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope all registered athletes will be able to participate on June 21. Online registration for this race has been extended one more week.
Summer Festival
The race will take place at Washington Park, 2 miles from downtown Washington, NC. It will coincide with the Washington Summer Festival that features entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and family fun. The Summer Festival is a great weekend destination for family fun. More information is available at http://www.wbcchamber.com.

The Race
The out and back swim will be in the Pamlico River, a river off the Pamlico Sound. The water is salty and has little current. The bike course will be a flat ride through Beaufort County. The run course is an out and back in Washington Park. Water stations are provided at the turn around point on the bike and on the run. The finish line is across the street from the transition area.
The race course revolves around a transition area next to Washington Park Waterfront. The same transition area will be used for all phases. The transition area will open at 5am; ALL bikes need to be placed in position before the transition area closes at 6:45am.
